With sale season in full swing, beauty giant Mecca has announced a massive 50 per cent off mid-year sale on a large selection of skincare, makeup and fragrances.
A well-rounded selection of brands were on offer, including the likes of Nars, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, diptuqye and many more, however not all beauty fans were delighted with the news.
The Aussie retailer kicked off the sale at 7am sharp (AEST) despite only announcing the sale at 7pm Tuesday night, the evening prior.
Due to limited stock and immense online demand, several shoppers missed out on nabbing a beauty bargain and took to social media to vent their frustration.
“Next time can you make the sale commence at midday? That will give us west coasters a chance to grab something before it’s all sold out after the first 30 mins,” shared one agitated shopper at 12pm AEST.
“Ummm, just wondering are you restocking please, all seems sold out already..?” wrote another,” wrote another.
According to some Instagram comments, the bulk of the products were snatched up within 10 minutes of the sale going live. Highly coveted products like candles from French brand diptyque and skincare from Dr. Dennis Gross and Goldfaden MD sold out in seconds.
Other prepared shoppers, however, managed to wake up early and snag a bargain.
“Thanks for yet another great sale Mecca. Got to get in quick for a Mecca sale! I logged on before 7am, and other than the first minute of the sale, the process was simple and I managed to grab myself lots of goodies,” read one comment.
“That sold out soooo quickly! I’m glad I got a few things though,” shared another.
Mecca has since confirmed via an Instagram comments that it will not be restocking sale items.
“Unfortunately sale items will not be restocked. Apologies for any disappointment caused,” wrote a social media representative on behalf of the brand.
While the majority of the retailer’s sale stock has sold out, shoppers can still get their hands on a small range of eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and concealers.
