The UK’s “nation’s favourite gingers” are uniting for a very special project — and all will be revealed tomorrow.
The Sun reports that Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry have shared a 20-second teaser clip on Instagram ahead of World Mental Health Day and fans have gone into overdrive.
In the clip, Shape of You singer Sheeran arrives at what appears to be the entrance to the front of Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace, where Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank live, and presses the doorbell.
To the delight of many fans, a God Save the Queen tune plays, before the Duke of Sussex opens the door to greet him.
After saying hi to each other and shaking hands, Sheeran asks Harry if he minds if the camera is brought into his home.
Harry replies “Not at all” and the pair then head inside together.
Teasing fans, the video then has the text “Tomorrow October 10” hinting that we won’t have to wait long for the secret project to be unveiled.
On the SussexRoyal account, the video has the hashtag #WMHD, which is the abbreviation for World Mental Health Day taking place tomorrow.
Prince Harry is a passionate advocate for speaking about mental health, and earlier this week starred in an NHS campaign and advert alongside Prince William, his wife Kate and Harry’s wife, Meghan.
In the advert, the Cambridges and Sussexes tell viewers how to beat bad sleep, stress and low mood in the advert.
The three-minute video — believed to be the first time senior royals have appeared in an advert — directs viewers to the Every Mind Matters website for tips on coping with life’s ups and downs.
The four royals narrate the film, but each recorded their voiceovers on different days due to diary clashes, according to sources.
Prince Harry has been vocal about his own mental health struggles, and admitted on his 10-day royal Africa tour that he sometimes struggles to get out of bed due to all the problems in the world.
Fans of Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry have shared their excitement on social media, with one saying: “The two favourite gingers of England. Perfect.”
Another added: “Oh brilliant two of my favourite gingers! And I mean that in a loving and endearing way. Can’t wait!”
And one commented: “How to break internet with just one post.”
Meanwhile another said of the national anthem doorbell: “Is that actually there door bell ring?”
